Hanger for kids
This is a children's hanger made from thinly torn pandan leaves. It has a tightly woven and carefully finished texture, giving it a simple beauty.
It has a leather-like luster and a soft texture that changes with use. The core of the base is made of stainless steel, so it is very stable.
Pandan leaves are a plant called Pandanus odoratus that grows in Southeast Asia and Polynesia. It is in the same family as Pandanus spp., which is used in Ishigaki Island's folk tools, and has a similar laid-back, rustic feel.
The thick, sturdy leaves have long been used as a material for handicrafts such as baskets and bags, but hangers made from this material are rare. This is a fresh item that highlights the careful handiwork of artisans.

CREOLE
Textile designer Rie Yonezawa started CREOLE in 2013. Yonezawa plans and produces products together with artisans and ethnic women from Laos and neighboring countries.
Laos is experiencing rapid development, and while some handicrafts are disappearing, others are being passed down in a different form. In order to ensure that the precious handicrafts handed down from ancient times are preserved forever, we continue to build lasting relationships and make our products.
Both items, some of which are used daily in Laos, and some which Yonezawa created from scratch together with village women, have a primitive beauty that is born from the gentle rhythm of life.
