Cotton socks
These socks are made from 100% organic cotton and feel as soft as hand-knitted socks.
The back threads that face the skin are all loosely knitted with cotton threads, so they fit softly and allow for a moderate amount of air without being too tight. They keep your feet dry and comfortable while preventing your toes from getting sweaty. They also protect your feet from the cold during the hot season when air conditioning can easily chill you to the core.
Available in two colors: ecru and beige.
Mokono's wiggly socks
At a sock factory in Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, craftsmen knit the socks into a tubular shape using old-fashioned circular knitting machines, some of which are still rare today. Even the stitching of the toes and the finishing of the opening are all done by hand.
Usually, socks are steamed or pressed to straighten the yarn and set the shape at the end, but Mokono's cotton socks are not pressed, and are left to their natural, wavy texture.
As you wear and wash the socks repeatedly, the twist in the fibers will loosen, the threads will expand, and the twists will go away. The heel will become aligned and the socks will naturally mold to the shape of your feet. These socks are a joy to grow.
Not only can they be used as everyday socks, but they can also be used to keep your feet warm all year round.

After working as a graphic designer at an advertising agency, Tamami Takeoka went on to freelance in package design and product planning. By chance, she came across a sock factory with old knitting machines, and began producing "Kunekune Socks" in Ashiya, Hyogo Prefecture, in 2010.
Using old-fashioned machines that have been lovingly maintained and the skilled techniques of craftsmen, Mokono's socks have a soft texture and comfortable fit that you will never forget once you try them on.
