Five-toed socks
These mid-length five-finger socks are made with plenty of soft cotton yarn.
The heel-free design wraps loosely from the toes to the opening, making it comfortable to wear, not tight, and not stuffy. There is no left or right or front or back, so the burden on the heel is reduced and it also reduces tears.
The toes are long and roomy, making these socks easy to wear even for those who are new to five-toed socks. They are unisex and can be worn by both men and women who wear smaller sizes.
Five-toed socks do not restrict the movement of your toes, and they also promote blood flow and help prevent colds.
Mokono's wiggly socks
At a sock factory in Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, craftsmen knit the socks into a tubular shape using old-fashioned circular knitting machines, some of which are still rare today. Even the stitching of the toes and the finishing of the opening are all done by hand.
Usually, socks are steamed or pressed at the end to straighten the twist of the yarn and set the shape before they are finished. However, Mokono's socks are not pressed, and are left intact to retain the unique texture of the natural, wavy fabric.
As you wear and wash the socks repeatedly, the twist in the fibers will loosen, the threads will expand, and the twists will go away. The heel will become aligned and the socks will naturally mold to the shape of your feet. These socks are a joy to grow.
Keep your body warm all year round, starting from your feet.

mokono
After working as a graphic designer at an advertising agency, Tamami Takeoka went on to freelance in package design and product planning. By chance, she came across a sock factory with old knitting machines, and began producing "Kunekune Socks" in Ashiya, Hyogo Prefecture, in 2010.
Using old-fashioned machines that have been lovingly maintained and the skilled techniques of craftsmen, Mokono's socks have a soft texture and comfortable fit that you will never forget once you try them on.
